Ashley Lin addresses reports of parents' divorce
9 Sep – Taiwanese singer Ashley Lin recently assured that everything is fine between her actor parents Lin Wei and Mimi Kung, following the former's confession that he and Mimi have been divorced for two years.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke to the media at a fashion event, confirmed that the couple have been separated for a while and that they had done their best to take care of her and her brother Edison throughout the period.
"They're good parents. I am very happy," she added.
Asked if she has met her father's new girlfriend, businesswoman Lee Zhuo-mei, Ashley said that she will let Lin decide on whether or not they would be introduced.
"As a daughter, I will give him my blessings," she said.
As to whether she would encourage Mimi to start dating again, Ashley said that she is open to the idea.
"I want everybody to be happy and have someone to cherish. If they are happy, then I am happy," she said.
She also dismissed allegations that her mother was controlling and made it difficult for her father to see them, saying that she still keeps in touch with Lin despite the two of them living in different places.
