Aisha Retno debunks concert organiser's statement about concert cancellation
12 Nov - Aisha Retno has finally broken her silence regarding the cancellation of her concert "Malam Sutera" by organiser Kharisma Music.
The singer recently took to her social media account to share her thoughts about the turn of events, saying that the news not only surprised her fans but also herself and her management.
Aisha admitted that when she was approached by the organiser to hold a solo concert, she declined it at first, seeing that she is still a new artiste and needs to learn more and create more music so that she can perform better, plus she had just completed a whole season of a reality show. But she decided to do so as the organiser was confident of her ability.
"But since things turned out this way, I think it's so important for me to open up because I feel like this concert affected me a lot as I was not able to accept a few events, big festivals and jobs prior to the concert as part of the rules and regulations. It's a loss I had to bear," she said.
Aisha stated that she and her management received no updates from the organiser, and that the other party decided to burden her and her team with the responsibility of marketing and promoting the concert instead of it being part of their job.
"When the statement came out, it sounded like they were blaming me for the ticket sales and for no updates regarding Malam Sutera. I think this is an absurd suppression because if you follow me from time to time, I haven't had the time to rest as I have been blessed with work," she said.
As for the claim that her management has decided not to postpone the concert, which led to the cancellation, Aisha said that she and her team were still down to discussing it, but that the other party chose to shut it down.
"I pray for the smoothness of any concert that will be organised [by them] and I apologise again to the ticket buyers because this concert did not happen as planned," she said.
