Zhao Wei spotted at Beijing Airport amid alleged ban
28 Jun – Two years after her alleged ban from the entertainment industry, Zhao Wei recently attracted attention when she appeared at the Beijing Airport amid her hiatus.
As reported on Oriental Daily, after hearing rumours that the "My Fair Princess" star will be returning to the mainland, fans immediately flocked to the airport to catch a glimpse of Zhao, and were elated when the actress cordially chatted with them.
Zhao, who appeared at the airport in white shirt and white jeans, hiding behind her cap and face mask, with one hand in her pocket, had no issue talking to those who greeted her. At one point, when a fan told her that she loved her cool posture of walking with one hand in her pocket, the actress responded, "Thank you. Then I won't take them out."
The 47-year-old, however, made no mention as to why she was coming back to Beijing.
It is noted that Zhao was unexpectedly banned from the industry two years ago, with her TV dramas and movies suddenly being removed from streaming platforms. No explanation was given as to why she was banned.
Her whereabouts have been a mystery since the alleged ban, though multiple netizens reported to have met the actress several times at the airport. She was also rumoured to have moved to France.
