Zhao Lusi seen taken to the ER amid depression rumour

30 Dec - Zhao Lusi was reported to have been admitted to the Emergency Room last week, with rumours saying that her condition is getting severe.

Reports of her hospitalisation were first revealed by netizens who saw her at the hospital, with some saying that she seemed weak and unsteady as she made her way to the ER on 18 December.

It then sparked rumours that Zhao may be suffering from depression or a neurological issue. Well-known rumourmonger Liu Dachui alleged that Zhao has been suffering from severe depression after being dragged into many negative rumours this year.

Liu claimed that Zhao was also experiencing stress after the script of her new drama differed from the original script she read when she said yes to the project, and that the director and producer disagreed with her request for a change.

Meanwhile, her management had since admitted to the hospitalisation, saying that she has experienced a health crisis and had since suspended all work commitments.

However, they provided no further information regarding the nature of her illness.

It is noted that Zhao was accused of undergoing cosmetic procedure back in September, a rumour which her management had since debunked.

She had drawn criticisms in October when, as the China-France Environmental Month Promotional Ambassador, she incorrectly stated the length of China-France diplomatic relations during a speech. At the event marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, she mistakenly referred to it as the 40th anniversary.
