Zhang Xiaofei and Wang Yibo to star in Stephen Chow's new flick?
16 Jan - Rumours are rife that Stephen Chow will begin shooting his new movie, "Shaolin Women's Soccer" soon and that it will star Zhang Xiaofei in the lead.
As reported on Mingpao, sources are saying that the film, which has been announced by the comedy auteur back in June, has finally found its protagonist in the Chinese comedian and actress, who recently won Best Actress at the Golden Rooster Awards for her performance in "Hi, Mom".
The actress reportedly will be co-starring alongside Wang Yibo, of whom Stephen reportedly has shown interest in cooperation in the past.
The news of the two participating in the film has spread widely, and fans from both sides said that everything will be subject to the official announcement. It was also said that the movie will begin filming in February with a new title.
A synopsis of the plot has also gone viral on social media, revealing that it will be about a women's team that reunites after facing a betrayal to finally win the AFC Champions League.
