Zanilia Zhao nominated at the Magnolia Awards

31 May - Zanilia Zhao's attempt to shift away from idol and costume dramas seemed to have bore success, as she was revealed to have been nominated at the Magnolia Awards.

The actress, who filmed only two dramas in 2022, has been nominated Best Actress for her performance in "Wild Bloom", the drama which has Zanilia playing a businesswoman venturing into the transport of scrap steel, an industry dominated by men.

The actress will be competing with other worthy contenders that include Tan Zhuo ("Enemy"), Yin Tao ("A Lifelong Journey"), and Wu Yue (Bright Future").

She will also be competing with award-winning actress Sun Li, who is nominated for "The Ideal City".

Meanwhile, the drama itself is nominated in the Best Chinese TV Series category, competing with "Beyond", "The Ideal City", "Decisive Victory", "The Examination for Everyone", Enemy", "The Wind Blows from Longxi", and "Medal of the Republic" among others.

The upcoming event will be held on 23 June.
