Zac Efron makes his Disney comeback with this comedy remake

11 Aug – We last saw Zac Efron singing and dancing his heart out in the "High School Musical" franchise more than a decade ago, now the actor's set to make his return to Disney but in a more mature role, so to speak.
Considering that the movie he'll be in is a comedy, most likely he won't be too serious in it. Though The Hollywood Reporter didn't specify which role exactly he will be playing, he is confirmed to star as one of the titular characters of the "Three Men and a Baby" remake.
Most likely this remake won't hit theatres since it is being developed for the streaming service Disney+.
So far the 32-year-old is the only name attached to the project as casting is still underway. A search for a director is also still on-going.
Gordon Gray, who produced Ben Affleck's "The Way Back", will be producing. The remake script is written by Will Reichel but there are no details yet on how it will be different from the original '80s movie.
Released in 1987, the comedic hit helmed by Leonard Nimoy starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson as the three New York bachelors taking care of a baby while protecting it from drug dealers.
It spawned a sequel, sans Nimoy, in 1990 called 'Three Men and a Little Lady". A third instalment, with the working title "Three Men and a Bride", has been in the works for some time but there's still no update on that as of this year.
This won't be the first remake for "Three Men and a Baby", which in turn was a remake of 1985 French film "Trois hommes et un couffin", but it will be the first English-language remake from Disney itself.
It has previously received a Malayalam remake "Thoovalsparsham" and Telugu remake "Chinnari Muddula Papa", both released in 1990, as well as two Tamil remakes, "Thayamma" in 1991 and "Asathal" in 2001, and lastly a Hindi remake "Heyy Babyy" in 2007.
