Yumiko Cheng is back in Hong Kong after three years

12 Sep - Yumiko Cheng recently revealed that she is now back in Hong Kong after three years of living in Shanghai.

As reported on Epoch Times, in her latest interview with Radio Hong Kong, the singer stated that she and her husband Andy Leung made the decision to move back now that they are able to go to and fro mainland China easier than during the pandemic.

Said Yumiko, her nine-year-old daughter Avery has also started studying in an international school in Hong Kong, though may need some time to adapt to her new life.

"I will continue to teach her to learn traditional Chinese characters. I have been teaching her privately in Shanghai in hopes that she can adapt easily when we return," she said.

As for herself, Yumiko recently released her new song, "Lady King", where she tried rapping and interspersed Shanghainese, Cantonese and Mandarin lyrics in the song.

It is noted that the singer previously decided to stay in Shanghai to make it easier for her to work in mainland China during the pandemic after she became well-known following her participation in season one of "Sisters Who Make Waves" (now "Ride the Wind").
