Yuki Kashiwagi is ready to get back to work

14 Jul – Several weeks after announcing that she is taking a hiatus from work to focus on her health, Japanese singer and AKB48 member Yuki Kashiwagi announced that she will be making her comeback this week.

As reported on Epoch Times, the news was revealed by her agency, Watanabe Productions, which stated that Yuki has been safely discharged from the hospital after the surgical removal of the intramedullary tumour of the spinal cord and is currently undergoing her rehabilitation steadily.

The company revealed that in view of her strong desire to restart performing arts activities, and after obtaining the consent of the attending doctor, she will restart her showbiz activity; starting from hosting her personal radio programme, "Kashiwagi Yuki no YUKIRIN TIME supported by DAIYAME" on 15 July.

She will also participate in her online event to commemorate the release of her photo book "Experience" on 18 July.

The company also disclosed the words of Yuki herself, which read, "I'm very grateful to everyone for worrying about me and encouraging me during the surgery. Thanks to everyone, the operation was successful and the rehabilitation went smoothly. I am also surprised by the doctor. Honestly, I am so relieved. Ever since I learned of my condition, I have been worried about what I should do if I can no longer sing and dance."

"And this month I have actually felt that there is a place to go back, how encouraging people have been.... I will give back to you more vigorously than before," she added.

As for her solo concert and her collaboration with WACK, Watanabe stated that they are currently adjusting her schedule to ensure that it could be done within this year.

It was earlier in June that the singer was diagnosed with syringomyelia, a disorder in which a cyst or cavity forms within the spinal cord, following a guest appearance on a TV show called "Clinic Where You Can Meet the Doctor", where doctors first expressed concerned for her health condition during an examination.
