Yu Haoming denies Yang Mi was the ex who left him
25 Feb – Chinese singer-actor Yu Haoming has recently denied speculations that the girlfriend who left him during the most difficult period of his life was fellow actress Yang Mi.
As reported on Mingpao, the speculations sparked following Yu's recent interview with a mainland TV programme, where he spoke about the harrowing experience he had with Selina Jen during the filming of "My Date with Spring" in 2010 that resulted in him suffering third-degree burns over 39 percent of his body.
Yu admitted that he was suffering from depression at the time not only from the traumatic experience, but also because his girlfriend left him soon after - calling it "the biggest hurt of all".
While Yu declined to reveal more details about the said ex-girlfriend, netizens speculated that it could have been Yang Mi, as she was witnessed at the hospital where Yu was treated on the second day following the accident.
In response to the rumours, Yu stated via his manager, "I did talk about an ex-girlfriend on the show that day, but I don't know how Yang Mi's name was dragged into it. I don't want to bother someone else's life. This kind of thing could hurt a woman's reputation."
