Year in Review 2019: Most searched beauty brands in Singapore
SINGAPORE – If you have cleaner, toner, moisturiser, lipstick, foundation, masks, fragrance, hair care (you get our drift) all within arm’s length, then you, our Yahoo Singapore readers, are the ultimate beauty junkies.
That’s not all; with a new crop of skincare brands trickling into Singapore from South Korea and the US, the more adventurous of beauty enthusiasts are happy to experiment with a new step or product. However, some of us brand loyalists will continue to use the same ol’ tried-and-proven beauty regime we’re comfortable with.
Here are the most searched beauty brands in Singapore, according to Yahoo Singapore readers.

10.Bio-Essence
Bio-Essence is one of many brands under LD Waxsons Group, a Singapore-based fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, before it was acquired by Wipro Limited in 2012 for about US$144 million. The skincare brand has a wide range of facial products like cleansers, moisturisers, makeup removers, facial oils, facial mists, eye care, just to name a few.
9.Cetaphil
Cetaphil is a gentle skincare brand that comes highly recommended by dermatologists. Owned by the company Galderma, Cetaphil is one of the few consumer brands they’ve launched alongside Proactiv, a non-prescription acne brand and Restylane, a brand of hyaluronic acid-based facial fillers.
Cetaphil was first launched in 1947 in Texas, with the first product to hit the shelves being Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion. Soon after, the brand’s range of everyday products expanded, from cleansers, moisturisers and sun protection to baby products and solutions for sensitive skin conditions such as acne, eczema and rosacea.
8.Mamonde
Established in 1991, the South Korean brand Mamonde draws inspiration from nature, using natural ingredients like rose, calendula to orange flower extract and chamomile. Some of their bestsellers include best-sellers: First Energy Essence, Moisture Ceramide Light Cream, Cover Powder Cushion, Highlight Lip Tint and cult classic Rose Water Toner.

If you didn’t know by now, The Estee Lauder company owns a slew of brands like Aveda, M.A.C. and Clinique. Clinique actually manufactured their first dermatologist-developed skincare range in 1968, and since then, have been expanding their range to include cosmetics that are free from allergens, and irritants.
6.Skin Inc.
Homegrown brand Skin Inc. was founded by Sabrina Tan in 2007 when she was searching for a product to soothe her eczema-prone skin. Since then, the patented and customisable skincare range has won over 100 beauty awards and is stocked internationally in Sephora, Nordstrom and even on Singapore Airlines.
5.Etude House
Etude House is a South Korean cosmetic brand owned by Amorepacific Group. The beauty brand has been expanding to markets such as India and Dubai the last two years, through agreements signed with local partners in those regions. With a price range that won’t burn your wallet, beauty fans rave for their bestsellers like Better Lips-Talk Velvet, Dear Darling Water Tint and SoonJung PH 6.5 Whip Cleanser just to name a few.
4.Sulwhasoo
Sulwhasoo’s first medicine cosmetic, the ABC Ginseng Cream, was actually concocted in 1966. Since then, the brand has expanded to serums, moisturisers and eye creams, using ingredients like jaum balancing complex. By placing emphasis on balance and harmony, and combining it with modern technologies, Sulwhasoo is the next big luxury brand to thrill fans around the world.
3.Kiehl’s
Kiehl’s first operated as a standalone pharmacy in Manhattan, New York in 1851. When the brand was purchased in 2001 by the L’Oreal group, the brand expanded with over 250 retail stores worldwide, including Singapore. The skincare range, revered by both male and female customers, counts its Ultra Facial Cream, Ultra Facial Toner, Calendula Herbal Extract toner as some of its bestsellers.
2.Laneige
Not just known for its ambassadors like Song Hye-kyo and You Jung-kim, Laneige was one of the few brands to enter the beauty market under its principal, Amorepacific Group. The brand's central concept is based on its Advanced Water Science technology, an emphasis on skin hydration.
1.Innisfree
Innisfree is a naturalism-oriented cosmetics brand created by Amorepacific in the year 2000. The brand stands for delivering the natural benefits of Jeju Island and offering healthy beauty to customers. If you have their Green Tea Seed Serum, Jeju Orchid Enriched Cream in your shelf, then you’re definitely a huge fan of theirs.
