If you have watched Story of Yanxi Palace and loved the character of Hai Lan Cha, here’s your chance to meet actor Lawrence Wong at his first-ever fan meeting in Singapore.

The fan meeting will take place at Chinatown Point mall next Friday (28 June) at 7.30pm and admission is free. But members of Wong’s fan club, The Lawves, will be seated in the VIP area, and also receive a goodie bag, photo opportunity with Wong and chances to play games with him.

The Malaysian-born Singaporean actor expressed his appreciation for his Singapore fans and said, “Some fans have really followed me for a long time, supported me since I debuted. When I went to China in 2016, I had less interaction with them, but they didn’t give up, and instead always give me encouragement and support. I’m really thankful to them.”

Wong is now a superstar in China thanks to his role in the hugely popular period drama Story of Yanxi Palace. The former Mediacorp actor set hearts aflutter with his good looks and likeable character in Yanxi, who is the comic-relief foil to male lead Fucha Fuheng, played by Xu Kai.

The Qing Dynasty drama, produced by iQiyi, also starred Hong Kong’s Charmaine Sheh and China’s Wu Jin Yan. It has an avid following in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Wong recently replaced the late actor Aloysius Pang in the drama series My One in a Million after Pang died in a military training accident in New Zealand.

He has acted in several Channel 8 dramas – including 118 and Three Wishes – as well as on Channel 5 (Zero Calling).
