Yang Zi not involved in Chinese "Reply 1988" remake
17 Apr – Chinese actress Yang Zi has recently denied rumours of her participating in an upcoming remake of a South Korean TV drama.
As reported on Phoenix, sources previously claimed that a Chinese version of the hit Korean "Reply" franchise will soon start production, and that the "Ode to Joy 2" actress will be joining the cast that includes Liu Haoran and Zhao Yiqin.
The drama, which will reportedly be titled "Reply 1998", will revolve around China's Olympic bid and the handover of Hong Kong and Macau to China.
Yang's camp soon released a statement regarding the rumours, saying, "There has been a lot of rumours that Yang Zi will be participating in this project or that project. In order to avoid unnecessary rumours and misunderstanding, we are going to clarify this."
"Yang Zi is not signed too any film or television projects at present time. I hope everyone will ignore the rumours. Thank you."
