Yang Mi finally addresses bet-on agreement rumour

1 Feb - Yang Mi has finally addressed previous rumours about herself and her involvement in previous management company, Jaywalk Studio.

As reported on Epoch Times, it was alleged in the past that the actress had signed a RMB 300 million bet-on agreement, which stipulated that from 2015 to 2017, the cumulative after-tax net profit of "Jiaxing Media" must reach 3.1 billion.

Although it was an unconfirmed rumour, many noted that Yang Mi worked nonstop from 2015 to 2017, starring in 13 acting projects and doing two variety shows.

When asked about this in a recent interview, Yang Mi denied it, saying, "To be honest, there are so many rumours in the world, and there are many things that I don't understand, so I don't know why this rumour spread like this."

As for her decision to leave Jaywalk after many years last year, the actress responded, "When everyone pursues their own interests and tries their best to achieve their own interests, if such interests are inconsistent with the interests of others and there is a conflict, everyone will naturally become a proponent or a contrarian."

She believes that it is impossible to say which party is right, but in such a relationship, one has a choice.

"Actually, anybody who is in a workplace understands that if you can communicate, just communicate. If you can't, forget it," she said, adding that she has more options now to do the type of movies she wants.
