Has Xie Shaoguang left monkhood?

28 Mar - He previously left the limelight for the life of monkhood, but now former Singaporean actor Xie Shaoguang has returned to the secular world as a chef at a café.

As reported on Zaobao, the "Legends of Jigong" star was recently spotted working at the Three O Café again in Johor Bahru.

A female employee stated that she saw him in casual clothes a few months ago, although didn't find his return a surprise since a Buddhist monk can return to the secular world six times.

When approached for comments, Xia, who was surprised that the news of his return has reached the media, only responded, "It's my business."

He also declined to explain the reason for his return.

Xie left showbiz back in 2005, when he decided to move to Malaysia and establish his own refuge for stray cats and dogs. In 2013, Xie surprised many when it was revealed that he has been ordained in a Buddhist centre in Pontian.
