The Wynners bids farewell to fans

9 Aug – Hong Kong's long-running off-again-on-again band The Wynners recently announced that they are soon to disband for good.

Hong Kong media reported that the group, consisting of Alan Tam, Kenny Bee, Bennett Pang, Danny Yip, and Anthony Chan, recently shared the plan to fans at their concert in Hung Hom, saying that the reason they decided to reunite this time was to bid farewell to fans.

The band stated that while they have been reuniting every five years to perform together, their average age now is 72 years old, and that it would be almost impossible for them to have the opportunity to hold a concert together in the future. Which is why, they said, they chose the 50th anniversary concert to bid farewell to the fans.

At the same time, the five members stated that they will continue the farewell concert in other places, with plans to go to Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Greater Bay Area.

Formed in 1973, The Wynners was the first band to perform at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The recent concert was their ninth time performing on the said stage.
