Wong You Nam wants "The Midnight After" sequel
5 May – "The Midnight After" star, Wong You Nam (also known as Shine), expressed his hopes that the sequel to the movie can be realised soon.
According to a report on HK Top Ten, the actor expressed his happiness that the box office collection for the movie exceeded HKD 20 million and disclosed that the cast members have been urging director Fruit Chan to start planning the sequel.
"We know that the top people have been having a meeting," said Wong, while speaking to the media at the event. "The director wants to make a second film and is interested to shoot the movie in Kowloon, which will be very demanding indeed."
"But we have to face the reality, that a movie needs a big budget. We don't want to get yelled at for making a poor movie!" he added.
The actor also expressed his hopes that the sequel can begin filming this year, as it would be tougher to resolve the plot from the first film if the production is delayed.
