Winnie Harlow looked sophisticated and sleek as she proudly showed off her legs while walking the “Le Comte De Monte-Cristo” red carpet during the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals on May 22 in Cannes, France.
The supermodel pulled off a stylish look in black, patent leather slingback stilettos. The shiny shoes had a pointed-toe and a strap around the ankle. The open-back shoe had a stiletto heel measuring approximately 4-inches with a neutral colored sole.
Harlow was accompanied by her NBA star boyfriend, Kyle Kuzma, who wore a black tuxedo for the occasion. But, the 29-year-old stole the show in her jaw dropping outfit. She wore a black laced spaghetti strap dress with a dramatic, asymmetrical display of deep purple flowers going down one side. The dress was short in the front with a long back. The look was completed with a sheer, black train adorned with flowers and a sparkling statement necklace with matching drop earrings.
In the photos, Harlow is seen posing with her hand on her hip while also waving to the throng of photographers and awaiting fans. Kuzma is also seen with his hand gently touching his girlfriend’s back as the two later walked the infamous, long steps to attend the screening while also holding hands.
Harlow walked the same carpet earlier in the week when attending “The Apprentice” screening on May 20. She chose an all white, pearl fringe look with a cropped jacket and matching pants. She completed the look with white pointed-toe pumps and a large brim hat.
Slingback heels found their popularity in the 1940s when sultry ankle straps and exposed heels were introduced on pin-up girls. While often seen with a sandal or a closed-toe shoe, the shoe often comes in an open or peep-toe version with a variety of stiletto lengths.
