Violet Lee Ying passed away at 70

26 Feb - Former RTV actress Violet Lee Ying has recently passed away.

The news was confirmed by friend Gigi Wong, who said that she was contacted by a relative who told her about Violet 's passing.

"She fell several days ago but didn't see the doctor. She told friends that it was just a sprain and refused to go to the hospital. A friend then cooked her food and left it at her door. She was still fine the last time I called her," she said.

Gigi stated that a friend later went to see Violet, and was surprised to see bruises on the left side of her face and the corners of her eyes. Violet was also revealed to have slurred speech at the time, which prompted the friend to call an ambulance.

"The medical staff arrived at the scene to help her, but unfortunately, she passed away soon after," she said.

Her eldest daughter Winnie also confirmed the news, and told the media, "I don't have much to say, and I hope the outside world will give us some space... Lee Ying is indeed majestic, proving that many people cherish her. I am so lucky to be your daughter, and I hope to continue this fate with you in the next life!"

The actress, who had moved to Canada, was last seen in the movie, "Twelve Days" where Stephy Tang played her daughter. She also starred in "Stories of Lion Rock Spirit 2022".

She was 70.
