Vegan Ben & Jerry's ice cream is in the pipeline
Iconic ice cream company Ben & Jerry's is set to release its first vegan version of the sweet treat.
Co-founder Jerry Greenfield broke the news in an interview with Metro, confirming that the brand is working on a dairy-free ice cream suitable for lactose intolerant or vegan customers. It is likely that coconut milk or almond milk will be used as an alternative to traditional milk.
"In the US there are (dairy free) alternatives from smaller companies but Ben & Jerry's will be first mainstream company that will do that and will also do it in a really delicious way,' he told the publication.
The product is set to hit supermarket shelves in the US in Spring 2016.
