TVB postpones 2020 Miss Chinese International pageant

31 Jan – TVB recently announced that it has decided to postpone the 2020 Miss Chinese International Pageant.

As reported on Mingpao, a statement about the postponement was released on 29 January, which read, "The 2020 Miss China Campaign was originally scheduled to be held in Hong Kong on 15 February. Considering the severity of the development of the new coronavirus epidemic, the decision was to postpone the event with the new date to be determined."

"The contestants and the sponsors have been notified of the above decisions," it added.

When asked about the announcement, Miss Hong Kong 2019 Carmaney Wong stated, "I received the notification from the company today. Because of the epidemic, TVB is worried about the safety of everyone, that's why it's postponed."

"I think this is an appropriate measure. The safety of the people is always important. Everybody should be careful as well and take good care of themselves," she added.

Carmaney also stated that she has no idea how long the postponement will be, and that only the producers would know.
