TVB denies viral list of "Come Home Love" stars' salaries

9 Jan - TVB has recently denied rumours concerning the salaries received by the cast members of the long-running series, "Come Home Love: Lo and Behold".

As reported on Mingpao, a list of the actors' salaries recently circulated online, alleging that veteran actor Lau Dan received the highest salary per episode at HKD 6,000 (approx. USD 771), followed by Kalok Chow at HKD 5,750 and Pal Sinn at HKD 5,500.

The news surprised many, who believed that the actors should be paid higher fees for their work seeing that the drama has been on air since 2017.

Meanwhile, a mainland netizen claiming to be an extra for the series said that they were paid HKD 380 per day (approx. USD 48) for a short filming period. This sparked backlash from HK netizens who are now accusing TVB of hiring foreign workers.

In response to the reports, TVB released a statement denying the information, saying that "the relevant discussions do not reflect the actual situation, and that the station reserves the right to pursue legal liability."

They continued, "In addition, the station hires extras through professional extras companies and strictly follows industry regulations to ensure that all work information provided by external personnel is authentic. Our station strictly abides by relevant regulations at all times and ensures that all actors participating in filming in Hong Kong hold Hong Kong resident identity cards or relevant permits."
