Tsui Wing launches kids' education centre
15 May – After months of planning, Hong Kong actor Tsui Wing has finally established his early childhood education centre, Smarties Academy.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who appeared at the opening of the said academy recently, shared that the idea of opening his own education centre was actually sparked a few years ago. But it was not until he discussed the idea with a friend - who is a son of a teacher - that they decided to turn it into a reality.
"I also plan to set up an artificial beach in one of the classrooms, and use the projection equipment to create other sceneries, like a forest for example. The children can experience more this way," he said.
He added that while the academy provides English class, the curriculum mainly focuses on interests' courses, including drama class and a course on hosting.
"We are not doing these classes so that kids can join showbiz. We just hope to strengthen the children's ability to communicate and control their emotions," he said, adding that actress Celina Ma will be one of the artistes who will be mentoring the children.
