New in town: Fook Kee Ipoh Famous Claypot Noodle — claypot crispy noodle’s 1st branch in SG
We have all heard of claypot rice, a common delicacy in Singapore. But have you heard of claypot crispy noodles? At new Fook Kee Ipoh Famous Claypot Noodle in Macpherson, you can find out what this innovative dish is all about!
This brand may not be unfamiliar to some, considering their 2 well-known branches in Malaysia. With this being their first branch in Singapore, it looks like there will be a new craving for claypot crispy noodle very soon.
With handmade noodles from Ipoh, Malaysia, the noodles go from being crispy to having a wonderfully QQ texture. Fook Kee Ipoh Famous Claypot Noodle’s broth is simmered along with fresh veggies, succulent meats or seafood and a selection of aromatic spices to create a thick broth perfect for crispy noodles.
Fook Kee Ipoh Famous Claypot Noodles believes that good food must be made with authentic ingredients and with a variety of options. As such, for those who prefer other noodle options, there are 2 choices — Mee Tai Bak and Bee Hoon. These options are definitely preferable for those who order takeaway since crispy noodles can take a soggy turn very quickly.
Their menu is on the smaller side, just providing different options of ingredients within the standard claypot noodles. Ranging from the classic Signature (S$5.50) to the more atas options like Prawns (S$6.50) and Clams (S$6.30), there are a total of 8 to choose from.
Those who do not like any add-ons, not to worry. Their Signature alone contains toppings of minced pork chunks, pork slices and an egg, which is just enough to enjoy for a light meal.
Just imagining a luscious gravy with QQ crispy noodles ignites my appetite. With Fook Kee Ipoh Famous Claypot Noodles specialising in exactly that, I’ll be sure to stop by soon to try out this innovative dish to see if the hype is justified!
