New in town: Cheese and Char Siew Curry Puffs in Changi Village Hawker Centre
Curry puffs are a familiar local snack, and What The Puff! takes them to the next level. This stall that recently opened in Changi Village Hawker Centre is a new hidden gem selling assorted curry puffs of unconventional flavours.
What The Puff! sells affordable, freshly handmade puffs, and they are nothing short of remarkable. Their buttery puffs are thick, stuffed to the brim, and come in 5 different flavours.
The founder, Yuan Ming is a finance undergrad student and started the company with his brother and friend because of their love for the snack. They hope to continue seasonally incorporating interesting flavours into curry puffs, keeping the tradition alive for younger generations.
WTP would not be a curry puff stall without the classic Original Curry Puff (S$2). The spicy potato curry filling paired with shredded chicken and a hard-boiled egg encased in pastry is an enticing go-to snack for many Singaporeans.
The Sardine Puff (S$2) is no stranger to the local food scene either. It contains a mildly spicy, savoury sardine filling perfect for those not feeling the usual potato curry.
The Cheese Curry Puff (S$2.50) on the other hand adds an unconventional touch to the original. A layer of cheese is added alongside the curry, and when eaten hot, rewards you with a satisfying cheese pull.
Black Pepper Chicken (S$2.50) is another somewhat uncommon curry puff flavour. The peppery kick chicken is accompanied by crispy pastry and an egg for extra protein.
Is the spice too much for you to take? If so, the Charsiew Chicken (S$2.50) may be more to your liking. The glaze-coated chicken char siew filling is less spicy and more savoury-sweet.
These assorted treats are not just addictive snacks or additions to your meal, but also a great sharing choice for catering events and bulk orders. To do so, simply DM What The Puff! via Whatsapp using this link.
Happy curry puff snacking!
