Tori Spelling and her family were near the scene of a police standoff after a nearby neighbor allegedly took someone hostage.

In photos published by Page Six, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum could be seen looking visibly distraught as she sprinted to her rental property to find her children as a neighboring man barricaded himself inside his home with a hostage.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that the incident happened at around 9:06 a.m.

When the SWAT team were called to respond to the situation, Spelling and her kids were forced to evacuate as officers surrounded the home.

The man responsible for the incident allegedly threatened to shoot law enforcement with a rifle in a tense standoff, police said.

Spelling could be seen watching the situation unfold behind yellow tape alongside neighboring homeowners and taking phone calls while the standoff occurred. Luckily, nobody was harmed and the suspect was taken into custody without causing any damage.

The ordeal comes amid the actress’ separation from her estranged husband Dean McDermott, with whom she shares her children: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, Beau and Jack.

"As we sit here today in Urgent Care … watching everyone getting swabbed and first up Finn with Strep throat and high fever of 103,” she wrote alongside a photo of them getting treated. “We now know that when the house was labeled a health hazard and not live able that wording was FACT. The Los Angeles native said she'll admittedly now look "for an @airbnb or @vrbo or hotel till we can even grasp what to do." In reference to her future plans, Spelling described how "we are just renters so looks like moving is in our eminent future as well. Grateful we have renters insurance. We'd be lost how to tackle this without."
