A family taking photos in Washington, DC, said they got a “family heirloom” picture after former president Barack Obama accidentally strolled past in the background while the photographer was snapping photos of their two children.“Look who strolled by in our picture for our family Cherry Blossom photoshoot!” mother Portia Moore wrote in an Instagram post that has since gone viral. Moore said she was distracted at the time, trying to make sure her two children, Preston and Belle, were prepared for the photo, and that Preston “didn’t run into the water,” so she didn’t realize that her husband, Damien, was trying to tell her that the former president was walking by.As soon as Portia heard what Damien was saying, she rushed over to the photographer, Briana Inell, and asked her if she got the picture. “She scrolls through and BOOM there it is! The perfect shot!” Moore wrote. “This story is one to remember and the picture is a family heirloom (literally). And nope, we did not bother him on his much-needed peaceful stroll.”Obama then commented on Moore’s Instagram post, writing: “Preston and Belle, I hope you enjoyed peak bloom! My bad for stepping into the shot.”“This means SO much to us!” Moore replied. “I hope you enjoyed your morning stroll!”The photographer who captured the moment, Briana Inell, also posted the photo on Instagram and described the moment as the “best photobomb ever!”“This is why you get to the Tidal Basin at sunrise on a weekday! You never know who you’re going to see!” Inell wrote. Credit: Briana Inell Photography via Storyful
