Tong Bing Yu establishes Marvelous Culture & Film
3 Apr - Tong Bing Yu recently announced the establishment of her production company, Marvelous Culture & Film.
The actress and former beauty queen, who appeared at the launching of the company, stated that she has always felt that Malaysia does not have a very united platform, and that there is a need to integrate resources and make good use of these resources.
Asked how she felt about starting the company, Tong said, "There is a lot of pressure at first starting from the time when I decided on the direction of the company and started this business. But I have now calmed down, allowing myself to be more mature in terms of mentality and business handling."
She also welcomes artistes of all ages to join the company, saying that she hopes to make the local industry flourish through many talented people.
As for her own acting career, she said that she is not in a hurry to get movies for herself but to produce other projects first. However, she added, "If there are suitable projects for me, I will work hard for them."
The company is set to launch various films and television works in the future, including the film, "Mei Lan" and Malay movie, "Blood Brothers". It will also have more cooperation with multiple international audio and video streaming platforms, aiming to integrate the Malaysian film and television industry with the global market.
