It has been confirmed that Tokyo Disneyland will be opening the massive new Fantasyland next Monday (28 September).

The new area at the theme park, which houses the Beauty And The Beast attraction, as well as the new Baymax ride at Tomorrowland, and new features at Toontown, were scheduled to open in April this year. However, due to the pandemic, the park had to close from February and had only reopened in July, causing the much awaited official opening of the new attractions to be delayed.

The new Beauty And The Beast attraction features a life-sized replica of the town where Belle lives in the movie, together with the Beast’s castle.

This large-scale development area covers 47,000 square metres and took around three years to complete. For the foreseeable future, in order to protect the health and safety of its visitors, the park operator will implement restrictions on the number of people using the new facility. They will also be adhering to Japan’s amusement park reopening guidelines, such as urging visitors not to scream.
