Toast Bar reopens after 1 year of closure, now ready to serve PJ residents fluffy brioche sandwiches

On 26 Jan 2022, Toast Bar put a halt to its operations in Taman Paramount as the owners were ready to move on to bigger things. Almost 15 months later, they announce their return to Malaysia’s food scene, and this time at Kota Damansara.

Toast Bar - Storefront

This isn’t your usual breakfast spot. Instead of the crispy slices of bread smeared with butter and sweet kaya, Toast Bar serves toast made with thick, fluffy bread and different types of filings like eggs, hash browns, and bulgogi.

Toast Bar - Hands holding a sandwich

This style of breakfast (or lunch) sandwich is inspired by South Korea’s gourmet sandwich shops like EGGDROP. Sandwiches are a pretty common street food in the country as well. One franchise that stays true to the nature of these street sandwiches is Isaac Toast— they still use the regular bread slices you’d find at toast stalls in markets, but they elevate their fillings to be more premium.

Their menu remains mostly the same with the addition of a couple new items. The MVP (RM16) starts with a hefty piece of brioche that’s sliced down the middle to make way for scrambled egg, bacon, pork ham, and cheese. If you’re a fan of pork belly and eggs, check out The Super Mama (RM15).

Just like the rest of us, Toast Bar has been keeping up with current pop culture trends as they introduce their latest menu item, the K-Bulgogi (RM15). Don’t fret, the eatery caters to non-meat eaters as well. They have their Crispy Golden Potato (RM13) that features a well-fried hash brown for some crunch. They’ve also got the classic Mr Egg (RM10) that highlights their fluffy scrambled eggs— perfect for those who want a lighter breakfast sandwich.

Toast Bar now serves coffee too, which makes the restaurant a great breakfast spot. Besides the usual Latte (RM10) and Americano (RM8), they have drinks like their Creme Brulee Latte (RM12) and Roasted Hazelnut Latte (RM12).

Those looking for a more casual brunch location with affordable prices and filling toasted sandwiches should check them out!
