Tiffani Thiessen's chickens help her carve Halloween pumpkins: 'Sometimes it works in my favor'

There's more than one way to crack an egg, and there's more than one way to make a jack-o'-lantern.

While most opt for a scoop and knife, or even power tools, Tiffani Thiessen outsources the work to fowl friends. The Saved By the Bell actress revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she likes to have her chickens help out with pumpkin carving.

Thiessen told the eponymous host about her family's love of getting dressed for Halloween before sharing her other, odder Halloween traditions. "We definitely do the pumpkin thing too," she said. "My chickens love pumpkins."

She continued: "Most chickens love scraps, and leftovers as well. So generally, I do this thing where I start the carving of the pumpkin, and then I let the chickens go at it."

Thiessen shared some of the process in an Instagram video that doesn't quite make it look like the most useful hack. "Sometimes it works in my favor," she says in the video. "And then this last time, it didn't."

Her most recent crack at employing chickens to do the decorating resulted in the chickens pecking the pumpkin to shreds, turning the outline of a face carved by Thiessen into a gruesome poultry-geist. Maybe we'll get a better proof of concept next year.
