The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific unveils new content with the help of celebrities
SINGAPORE – The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific unveiled new and upcoming movies, series and APAC titles for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar at a star-studded event titled Disney Content Showcase 2022 at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands on 30th November. Featuring guest appearances from the stars and cast of Disney’s new Korean dramas Big Bet, Connect and Call it Love; Japanese titles House of the Owl, Gannibal, and Dragons of Wonderhatch; as well as Indonesian series Teluh Darah, Mendua, Hubungi Agen Gue, Tira, Wedding Agreement The Series Season 2 and Jurnal Risa, the event saw the unveiling of over 50 shows to hundreds of press and partners in attendance.
Some of the new titles slated for this year and 2023 include:
Marvel Studios: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels, Secret Invasion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Loki Season 2
Walt Disney Animation Studios: Wish, Iwaju
Pixar: Elemental, Win or Lose, Elio, Inside Out 2
Walt Disney Pictures: Haunted Mansion, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Mufasa: The Lion King, Peter Pan & Wendy
Lucasfilm: The Mandalorian Season Three, Ahsoka, Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season Two, Star Wars Visions Volume Two, The Acolyte, Indiana Jones 5

The content giant also announced an expansion of its long-standing strategic collaboration with leading publishing house Kodansha to include Japanese anime. This expanded collaboration will include licensing exclusive SVOD anime titles based on manga produced by Kodansha that will be available exclusively on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, starting with Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc.
On top of that, K-pop fans would be pleased to know that the original docu-series, BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, Super Junior: The Last Man Standing, NCT 127 The Lost Boys, and J-Hope Solo documentary are also in the works.

A stellar Blue Carpet experience
Right after the exciting announcements, fans were given a rare opportunity to see their favourite South Korean and Japanese stars in the flesh at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands.
Connect cast including South Korean heartthrob Jung Hae-in, actor and comedian Ko Kyung-pyo, and breakout actress Kim Hye-jun walked the Blue Carpet, followed by Big Bet cast featuring Squid Game villain Heo Sung-tae, multi-hyphenate Lee Dong-hwi and acclaimed director Kang Yun-sung.
Other luminaries include the charming cast behind several new Japanese dramas – Yuya Yagira, Riho Yoshioka and Shinzo Katayama. Beloved Indonesian talent Deva Mahenra, Chelsea Islan and Refal Hady also shared the spotlight. Lastly, Asian-American storyboard artist, animator, voice actor, and filmmaker Peter Sohn – the director of the all-new, original feature film Elemental – also made his way down the Blue Carpet, which sealed off the activities for Day 1.
