Tessa Virtue and Morgan Rielly are officially husband and wife.

After quietly planning their wedding for the last year, the Canadian ice dancer and the Toronto Maple Leafs player have announced that they they're officially married. Although the exact dates are unclear, Virtue and Rielly told Hello! Canada that there were two ceremonies, a private dinner at Noce in Toronto and another celebration at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, Italy.

“We were on cloud nine,” said Virtue, who described their wedding as "magical."

The 34-year-old admitted she was conflicted at times about keeping their engagement and wedding plans private. "You know when something is just so meaningful to you that you simultaneously want to just hold on to it and protect it so fiercely, and also shout it from the rooftops?” she said.

Virtue opted for three couture designs from Jaclyn Whyte for her nuptials, which included a classic halter-style white dress for her Toronto celebration. The Olympian opted for a romantic pale pink strapless gown with mermaid train and a tea-length dress adorned with custom artwork by the designer for the Italian ceremony.

While many couples struggle with the wedding planning process, Virtue said the couple found it to be quite easy.

"There was no stress whatsoever, which I’m learning is rare…,"she said. "Doing all of that [planning] together was such a bonding process.”

Virtue revealed the pair are more motivated than ever to be "the very best partners for one another."

“I feel this immense responsibility. [Morgan] deserves someone who is at the top of their game, someone who is aiming to be the best version of themselves," she continued.

Virtue and Rielly have maintained a notably private relationship, with very few public details about their romance. Below, we take a look back on what we know about their love story.
