The tallest Christmas tree in the UK will go up this November
The UK's tallest Christmas tree — measuring a whopping 27 metres — will go on display at Kew Gardens' Wakehurst in Haywards Heath this November.
As part of Kew's annual Christmas spectacular in the Sussex countryside, the dazzling Christmas tree is part of the winter lantern trail, Glow Wild, and will feature 1,800 energy-saving bulbs.
The sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) tree is a long-lived evergreen species, famed for often reaching over 100 metres. It has sharp, blueish-green, awl-shaped leaves, and is suited to being planted as a specimen in a large park or garden. Towering above all others, it certainly makes an impressive festive display.
Other highlights for this year's Glow Wild include a brand new route through the wild botanic garden, 11 bespoke installations, and 1,000 paper lanterns handmade by local volunteers all celebrating the incredible colour spectrum of the natural world. Visitors can also expect to see the joyful explosion of colourful flora and fauna at the Glow Wild finale, plus indulge in warming food and drink at the end.

The team at Kew Gardens say: "Further new offers for Glow Wild 2022 include adults-only sessions, perfect for a heart-warming date night, or a fun evening out with friends. Every Friday night at 8pm, tickets will be reserved solely for visitors over 18yrs, offering a quieter experience for those looking for an enchanting outdoor experience."
