[BIFF] Tang Wei Spends Her Birthday in Busan for the Third Year in a Row

Along with Ahn Sung Ki, Chinese actress Tang Wei appeared at the talk session held at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on October 5 and opened up about coming to Busan for the third year in a row.

Although her birthday is on October 7, she received a special birthday cake and gifts.

The actress first attended the festival in 2010 with the film, Manchu, and returned as an MC this time around. This is the third time Tang Wei spent her birthday in Busan.

Tang Wei couldn’t hold in her excitement when fans sang her a happy birthday at Haeundae Beach.

When asked if it was difficult to communicate with Ahn Sung Ki due to the language barrier, she joked, “This is a secret, but Ahn Sung Ki understands Chinese and I understand Korean so there really aren’t any barriers. I’m telling this only to you guys.”

Ahn replied, “I could speak a few simple Chinese phrases when I was filming The Warrior, but I forgot it all after. But I remember conversational Chinese from when I was filming A Battle of Wits.

The BIFF, which will take place until October 13, will showcase 304 films from 75 countries.
