Sylvia Chang happy for Chung Suet Ying's Best Actress win
9 Dec - Having lost to the younger actress Chung Suet Ying at the Golden Horse Awards, Taiwanese screen legend Sylvia Chang stated that she is not at all disappointed with the result.
The actress, who attended a special reading session for her new book "Daughter" in Hong Kong on 7 December, stated that she has full confidence in her ability despite not winning Best Actress this time, and that she is happy to see that the new generation has now begun to win the accolades.
"I also think that there should be more awards for the next generation. Although I haven't seen the movie that she won it for, I do believe she had given a great performance," she said.
Sylvia stated that after decades of acting, she learned that it will be an obstacle to take the gains and losses too seriously.
"I don't act to win awards, but to make a good movie. I believe that every audience who comes to watch this movie is a judge, and the audience's comments are the most important to everyone," she added.
