Syamsul Yusof on Aaron Aziz issue: Let's not blame any party

27 Mar – After a previous statement made against Aaron Aziz over his forced departure from "The Original Gangster", filmmaker Syamsul Yusof is now urging everybody to stop talking about the issue.

Syamsul recently took to Instagram Story to express his thoughts, writing, "Regarding the issue of Aaron being dropped as an actor in the OG movie, we don't need to blame any party or other actors like Sharnaaz Ahmad and Beto Kusyairy."

"The decision to drop Aaron was made unanimously by me and the other producers of this film. This is a work issue between me as a director and Aaron as an actor. I take all the blame and take responsibility for this issue. There is no need to prolong it," he added.

It is noted that in a previous interview with the media, the "Mat Kilau" director stated the reason Aaron was dropped from the movie was due to his age and weight.

He was also quoted saying that he was the last person who wanted to drop Aaron's name, saying, "Actors Sharnaaz and Beto Kusyairy, my producers, choreography team, all of them told me they are not confident with Aaron because of his condition."

Following the aforementioned statement, Aaron took to social media, and accused Syamsul of making various demands from him when the filmmaker first offered him the role, including how Syamsul wanted him to achieve his desired weight and appearance and giving Aaron a short amount of time to do so. He also stressed that Syamsul knew of his physical condition before he even offered the role.
