Susanna Kwan denies marrying same-sex partner
29 Jan – Hong Kong actress Susanna Kwan has laughed off rumours that she has married her same-sex partner, Willy Chow.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke about her relationship with Willy on a radio show recently, stated that the most important thing to her right now is to have a happy life with her partner.
"It's great to have someone to share your ups and downs, and to have someone who cares for you when you're sick, and also takes you to the doctor," she said.
Susanna stated that the most difficult period in her life came circa 2013-2014, when her parents died and she seemed to be at the low point of her career. It was then that she was most grateful to have Willy around.
When asked if she and Willy are now married, Susanna laughed and said, "It's fabricated. Just ignore it."
The actress, who was also married before to composer Michael Lai in her early 20s, also stated that she doesn't feel marriage is necessary, and won't feel the need to do it even if most countries have accepted same-sex marriage.
