Sunshine Dizon plays betrayed wife in new drama
1 Dec - Life imitates art and vice versa as Sunshine Dizon is playing the role of a betrayed wife in her new drama, "Ika-6 Na Utos".
As reported on GMA News, the actress, who stars in the latest afternoon series alongside Gabby Concepcion and Ryza Cenon, revealed that she decided to do the drama to inspire other women who are in the same situation as her character Emma.
"This is a story of many women out there who are suffering silently. We hope through this show, we will be able to help them realise that they have a choice," she said.
Dizon herself is no stranger to such situation. Earlier this year, she separated from husband, Timothy Tan, after finding out that he had an affair with another woman.
She expressed, "I've always been interested in doing out-of-the-box characters. It just so happened that, unfortunately, something happened with my life. I will not deny the fact that it's quite similar to the story. But the story is very beautiful and the character is very nice, so it's not one for me to turn down."
However, Dizon stated that she still try to separate her own private affairs from her character.
"I just treat it as it is. It's work, it's a character. It will never be me. I try to separate my personal life with work. That's what I do," she said.
