Sun Ke-fang talks about tragic past for the first time
4 Oct - Sun Ke-fang recently opened up about her family life - a subject she rarely talked about in the past - after winning Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series at the recently held Golden Bell Awards.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who won for her role in the drama "Close Your Eyes Before It's Dark", mentioned her late parents in her acceptance speech and also thanked her grandmother, who passed away a few years ago.
Sun later shared that she is the product of a tragedy, as her parents passed away in a car accident while she was only seven, and that she later grew up under the care of her grandparents.
However, the actress admitted that she never made it a point before to talk about her situation in life so not to be publicised as "the new star with a tragic past".
She also revealed that her past has enabled her to deeply relate to her character in the drama, saying, "The director told me that the tragedy will also be treasures of my life. It gave me more confidence in acting."
Now that she has won her first award, Sun said that she couldn't wait to return home to her grandfather and celebrate her win together.
