Nina Paw saddened by Kong Hon's passing
3 Jan – Hong Kong actress Nina Paw couldn't help but shed a tear at the funeral of veteran actor Kong Hon (also known as Jiang Han), which was held in Hung Hom on 30 December.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress who attended the funeral with her husband Henry, shared that she regarded Kong as a big brother, of whom she had known since she was just a teenager.
"He was 11 years older than me. When I made the movie "Here I Come" at 15, he was already a top star who has his own big movie. At the time, I knew nothing about acting, but he taught me well," she said.
When asked how close they were, Nina admitted that the "Born Rich" actor would sometimes have dinner at her house and that they were very friendly with each other.
"However, we never got the chance to cooperate with each other," she said.
The actor's remains have been transferred to Cape Collinson Crematorium in Chai Wan.
Kong passed away on 7 December at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. He was 78.
