Strictly Come Dancing contestant Bobby Brazier has shared plans to dedicate a dance to his mum Jade Goody on the show.

The EastEnders actor, who was revealed as part of the dancing show's 2023 line-up last month, is the son of the TV personality, who passed away in 2009 from cervical cancer, and presenter Jeff Brazier, alongside brother Freddy.

Speaking to MailOnline about his planned songs for Strictly, he said: "There's a few – it depends on the mood. 'Saturday Love' and also 'This Woman's Worth' by Maxwell – that would be beautiful, I'd hope to make people cry doing that.

"Maybe I'll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven't thought about it, but maybe that one," Bobby added.

The actor also spoke a bit about how training has been going for the show, admitting it has "been a rollercoaster".

"I've had my moments," he said. "It's fun, but it's hard. Having to lift people and dance is a kind of exercise my body is not used to. My body is not used to any exercise up until recently."

Bobby's Strictly stint comes after a big week for the actor, notably after winning the Rising Star award at the National Television Awards (NTAs) for his role as Freddie Slater on EastEnders.

Meanwhile, Bobby's co-star and Strictly alum Molly Rainford has revealed she has been giving her co-star "secret dance lessons" ahead of the show.

"I had no idea Bobby was going for Strictly but when I found out, straight away I was showing him the frame," she told The Mirror. "I joked to him: 'How about we practise together and then you say I taught you everything you know.'"

Strictly Come Dancing returns for its launch special on September 16 on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
