Steven Ma wants to help ailing former TVB actor

14 Aug – Steven Ma recently expressed his intention to help fellow actor Jeff Chan, who recently revealed that he has stage four lung cancer.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor revealed that he recently saw Jeff's video in which the former TVB actor spoke about his illness, and couldn't help but feel saddened by the latter's situation.

Steven added that he has worked with many actors when he was still with TVB, and has the impression that he had worked with Jeff before. Thus, he would like to find ways to help the actor in his situation.

"I hope more people will also pay attention and encourage him," he said.

Former TVB actor Jeff Chan recently took to social media to reveal his health situation, saying that he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer after struggling with muscle pain in mid-June.

Jeff also revealed that he doesn't smoke or drink, and that the diagnosis came as a shock to him.

In the same video, the actor stated that he is most worried about the medical expenses, as he would need hundreds of thousands to cover the cost of his treatment.

Jeff previously worked in TVB before joining several other actors in moving to HKTV. He later went to mainland China to expand his career, where he filmed three movies. In the middle of last year, he began the production of his own directorial effort, "Training Class" - which he hopes to complete soon.
