Stephanie Ho celebrates son Asher's remarkable progress

10 Jan - Stephanie Ho recently revealed that her son has made a great progress since he began his intensive therapy training in the United States.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke to the media at the launch of RTHK programme, "Carers", said that her son Asher, who was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, couldn't understand why he had to undergo the three-week intensive training, but ended up doing great nonetheless.

"He has made a great progress. He wasn't able to climb before, but now he can crawl and make some sounds. I did not expect to communicate with him in speech so Fred, my son and I are learning sign language and hopefully we can communicate through multiple channels so he can have a way to communicate with others when he grows up," she said.

During their time in the United States, Stephanie said that they also participated in a research conference where doctors explained the development and scientific research process of Angel Syndrome.

"We don't expect anything extravagant; we just hope that he will make progress today than yesterday and we will be happy," she added.

Asked if Asher would be able to care for himself after this, the singer said that it would be more difficult but that she and husband Fred Cheng are optimistic.

"The most important thing is that my son is happy every day," she added.
