Milk cream, or ‘malai’, was almost invented in England. It wasn't popular until the 60s when the beauty industry started to take off. Many people still use milk cream for skin care.

How does it work on dry skin, oily skin, combination skin or sensitive skin? Does it contribute to younger-looking, healthier skin? The short answer is yes, it works. Collagen and elastin are protein pigments made by the skin's cells. Milk has been shown to help increase the production of collagen. Kaolin is derived from clay found in the foothills of the Southern Alps.

Here are several ways to use milk cream for flawlessly, smooth, soft and supple skin.

  1. It is excellent for moisturising, restoring moisture to dry and flaky skin. It can be applied directly to the skin or taken as a facial mask. This all depends on how it will be used.

The best way to use it on sensitive skin is to make a paste. You will need two tablespoons of pureed milk, a tablespoon of sugar, a quarter cup of oil, and two tablespoons of vanilla. Mix the milk, sugar and oil until smooth. Add the vanilla and let it stand for about fifteen minutes so that all of the ingredients have time to combine.

  2. Gently pour the milk into a clean bowl. Next, mix in the oil and the vanilla. Once the milk mixture is thoroughly blended, apply it to your face. Massage it gently until you feel a little bit of absorption. Let it dry for the best results.

  3. You can also use milk cream for sensitive skin on your hands and legs. It helps reduce dryness after washing them. It is also great for skin that feels itchy or burned. Simply mix it with your hands or a small amount of water to soothe and soften the skin.

  4. If you have dry or chapped lips, you can use it as a lip balm. Add a few drops before brushing your lips to keep them moist. It is a good idea to use it every night before going to bed, especially if you tend to have lip sensitivity during the night.

  5. If you have acne, eczema, or other skin problems, you can use it as a natural remedy. Make a paste out of the ground almonds and honey and use it as a facial mask. Rinse it off after ten minutes and reapply the mixture. It will work well for all kinds of skin problems.

To make an effective mask, combine one tablespoon of milk with enough lemon juice to dilute it with water.

  6. If you are breastfeeding, you might be wondering what to do with all that milk. Simply use it as a milk cleanser. Use a tiny amount on a cotton pad and dab it over your breasts before going to bed. This will remove any oil, soap or another residue from your breasts before you slip into sleep.
