Siti Nurhaliza not that keen about daughter becoming a singer
13 Aug - After showing off her daughter Siti Aafiyah's skill at the keyboard at her recent concert in Genting Highlands, songstress Siti Nurhaliza stated that she is not that hopeful about having her kids becoming a singer like her.
The legendary performer, who spoke to the media after her "Siti Nurhaliza: Cinta di Awan" concert, said that she and her husband will definitely monitor whatever type of careers that their two children choose in the future, though admitted that Datuk Khalid Muhammad Jiwa is not very keen on Aafiyah becoming an entertainer.
"If she does have a talent on that front, we want her to channel it the best way, like learning music. If she has tendencies towards song-making, then it's okay," she said.
For the time being, said Siti, Aafiyah is more interested in playing music, while her little brother Afwa, who is now three, is the one who enjoys singing.
Aside from her two kids, Siti also invited her niece Ummi Umairah, who previously won at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in California, for a duet at the concert, as they performed the Mandarin song, "Zheng Fu" as well as the song, "You Are the Reason".
