Siti Nurhaliza on backstage controversy: It wasn't anger, it was panic!
18 Apr – Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza couldn't help but find it amusing that a recent clip of her supposedly being angry at a crew at her concert went viral online.
The video, which saw Siti backstage saying something with a frown on her face before she stepped onto the stage to perform, had her haters accusing her of only pretending to be nice on social media, while fans defended her and saying that she is just human.
Speaking about the video on social media, Siti said that there were many things happening backstage that only those who worked at the concert knew.
"I never thought that a moment behind the stage at the Konsert Sebuah Epitome- Saya Siti Nurhaliza would attract so much attention. Some said that I looked angry. Don't take things too seriously. I wasn't angry," she said.
Siti said that the reaction people saw in the clip was her panicking, after realising that her ear monitor wasn't switched on.
"The LED was on and I had to start singing. Imagine if my ear monitor was still off? An ear monitor is very important to a singer, to enable her to hear the music and other sounds," she said.
Siti also shared the full video where the clip was taken so not to let further speculations arise. In it, she can be heard asking the crew, "Have you switched on the ear monitor? It's not on. Please switch it on" with no anger in her voice.
