Toronto Film Festival Sets Sarah Gavron, Julie Delpy Films for Platform Section

The film tells a story of a 40-year-old Chinese teacher who is going through a mid-life crisis, while befriending a young male student.

Anthony worked on Wet Season with his previous cast of award-winning film Ilo Ilo, including Yeo Yann Yann and Koh Jia Ler. Ilo Ilo picked up the Camera d’Or win at Cannes 2013, as well as four awards at the Golden Horse Awards in 2013, for Best Original Screenplay, Best New Director, Best Supporting Actress and Best Feature Film.

His new feature film will compete in the Platform programme, a section that recognises films with "audacious directors making bold choices", according to TIFF’s website. Other films competing in that category include, Sarah Gavron’s Rocks, Julie Delpy’s My Zoe, Alice Winocur’s Proxima and Darius Marder’s Sound of Metal.

Wet Season premieres on Sunday September 8 in the Platform section at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF, September 5-15).
