Shirley Yeung doesn't regret leaving TVB in 2014
12 Mar – It has been many years since Hong Kong actress Shirley Yeung decided to leave TVB, but not once has she ever regretted her decision.
In an interview with Mingpao recently, Shirley admitted that it was a gamble on her part to leave the company in 2014 despite having nothing concrete waiting for her at the end of the road.
Asked why she chose to leave TVB, Shirley said, "It was a matter of time. I forced myself to choose whether to stay or to go. If I signed with TVB for another seven or eight years, I would be too old to [restart] by the time the contract expires."
"It was a bold decision to try and go out and see the world. In just a blink of an eye, it has been five years. I didn't regret it at all," she added.
In the past five years, Shirley has mainly developed her career in mainland China. In addition to filming series and movies, she also appeared in many variety shows.
When asked if she would say yes to working with TVB again in the future, Shirley stated, "If there is an opportunity for a cooperation, I will consider it."
