Sherman Chung will move forward as an independent singer

16 Jul - After 15 years with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), Sherman Chung revealed that she is set to move forward as an independent singer.

As reported on Mingpao, the Hong Kong singer who appeared at the launch of Grace Wong's first single "Casada" recently, stated that she will continue to sing in the future but with the ability to work flexibly with different people and teams.

"Now that the internet is booming, you can publish new songs online. You don't have to spend a lot of money and worry about economic pressure," she said.

As to why she decided not to renew her contract with EEG, which is to expire in September, Sherman said that the two parties have already communicated and that the company understood her desire.

"[My manager] Mani Fok also wanted me to be happy, so everybody agrees for me to break out. Although I will no longer be under EEG, our relationship remains the same," she said.
